4 Best Paleo Fish Recipes to Keep You Going

In case you didn’t get the memo, you’re supposed to be eating fish twice a week now. Why? Because it’s supposed to have a lot of health benefits and reduce your risk of contracting several different conditions. Yet when you’re on the Paleo diet like us, Paleo Fish doesn’t always come to mind straight away. We tend to think about meats like Chicken or even beef before we think of a tasty Salmon Fillet.

That’s why we’ve resolved to bring you some of our favorite fish recipes so that you can enjoy the health benefits of Paleo Fish, and still keep your taste buds happy with your meal choice. Bon appetite!

Fried Fish Tacos

Who doesn’t like Mexican food, right? It’s taste incredible and is often a good guilty pleasure, right up there with chocolate and cheesecake. Unfortunately, Tacos aren’t really all that good when you’re on a Paleo diet, which is why this recipe probably first appeared. Paleo fish friend tacos are the perfect way to get yourself back to those heavenly tacos, whilst not damaging or altering your diet.

Fish Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cp. Tapioca Starch
  • 1 ½ lbs. Tilapia Fillets
  • ¼ cp. Coconut Flour
  • ¼ cp. Sparkling Water
  • 2 cp. Shredded Cabbage
  • 2 cp. Coconut Oil (Can be less if you want to be healthier)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • Cilantro
  • Jalapenos

To Make the Shells:

  • 1 head Cauliflower
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • ½ tsp. Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper

Method

To Make the Shells:

Step 1) We want to start by making the shells, so cut the Cauliflower into smaller parts.

Step 2) Place the Cauliflower in a blender and blend until it’s got a texture similar to rice.

Step 3) Steam the Blended Cauliflower over boiling water for 5 minutes.

Step 4) Squeeze the water out of the Cauliflower as much as possible. Make sure to remove as much moisture as you can.

Step 5) Mix the Cauliflower with the Eggs, Paprika, and Salt and Pepper in another bowl.

Step 6) Spread out on a baking tray to make several even sized circles, then bake in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes.

To Make the Tacos:

Step 1) Mix together Tomatoes, Onion, Cilantro, and Jalapeno with lime and salt and place in the refrigerator. This is the Tomato Mix

Step 2) Heat the Coconut Oil in a pan to 345 F.

Step 3) To make the batter mixture, mix together ¾ cp. of Tapioca Starch with Coconut Flour, Eggs, Sparkling Water, and Salt and Pepper. Place ½ cp. Tapioca Starch in a separate bowl for dredging.

Step 4) Cut your fish into smaller pieces. The smaller the piece the faster it cooks.

Step 5) Coat each of your fish pieces in tapioca starch, then place inside the batter mixture before dropping into the oil and leaving to cook for about 1 minute.

Step 6) Place the fish into your shells, and cover with the Tomato Mix. Add any extra seasonings you want.

Bacon Wrapped Salmon

What could be better than Bacon and Salmon? Alone, the whole ingredients are great, together, they’re the best! Glazed in a thin layer of honey and left to sizzle until perfectly cooked through, this paleo fish recipe is something you’ll want to cook again and again and again.

Bacon Wrapped Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 4 Salmon Fillets
  • 8 slices of Bacon
  • 2 tbsp. Raw Honey
  • 1 Lemon
  • Cooking Oil

Method:

Step 1) Preheat the Oven to 375 F.

Step 2) Season the Salmon with the Salt and Pepper before wrapping in the bacon. Each Fillet can have 2 slices of bacon (more if you really like bacon).

Step 3) Heat some Cooking Oil in a pan on the hob and fry the salmon until golden brown/pink.

Step 4) Brush the salmon with the Honey so there is a light coat and place into the oven for around 8 – 10 minutes.

Step 5) Serve and Enjoy!

Crab Stuffed Shrimp

Shrimp and Crab taste great together: fact. Here’s a recipe which brings them together in the best way possible to create one great tasting appetizer which is bound to impress.

Crab Stuffed Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cooked Shrimp
  • 1.6 oz. can Crab Meat
  • ¼ tbsp. Poultry Seasoning
  • 1.5 tbsp. Paleo Mayonnaise
  • Salt and Pepper

Method

Step 1) Slice the Shrimp from the top to the tail. Make sure not to cut through to the other side.

Step 2) Combine the Crabmeat, Paleo Mayonnaise, Poultry Seasoning and Salt and Pepper in a bowl.

Step 3) Stuff each Shrimp with the Crabmeat Mixture.

Step 4) Serve with Lemon Wedges and a Dipping Sauce of your choice!

Sesame-Spiced Tuna

This Tune Paleo Fish recipe isn’t just out of a can. Instead, it used the freshest Tuna Steaks to create a far east inspired dish for you to chow down on after a heavy workout. Perfect.

Sesame-Spiced Tuna

Ingredients

  • 4 Tuna Steaks
  • 4 tbsp. Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp. Fennel Seeds
  • 1 tsp. Mustard Seeds
  • 3 tbsp. Coconut Oil
  • ¼ tbsp. Black Peppercorns
  • Salt and Pepper

Method

Step 1) Mix the fennel and mustard seeds and peppercorns in a mortar and grind together. Add sesame seeds and salt to taste.

Step 2) Spread mixture on a flat surface and gently press the tuna steaks into it so that it sticks.

Step 3) heat Coconut Oil in a pan until hot.

Step 4) Place each Tuna Steak into the Pan and heat on each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until cooked to your preference.

Step 5) Serve and Enjoy!
