I’m a real coffee lover. Hate espresso, but I love latte, especially chai tea latte. Recently, I came across a very easy recipe for this delicious drink. You can make it at home and enjoy it during evening.
Ingredients
- 8 cardamom seeds
- 8 cloves
- 4 black peppercorns
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 2 cups whole/almond/soy milk
- 4 bags black tea
Preparation
- Place the cardamom, cloves, and peppercorns in a resealable plastic bag.
- Crush them all with a heavy skillet.
- Place the crushed spices in a medium saucepan, along with the cinnamon sticks, ginger, milk, and 2 cups water and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat, add the tea bags, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain into cups. To each cup, add 2 teaspoons sugar or more, to taste.
Bon apetite!
I always order one of these when we go to Indian restaurants, will definitely give this version a try, thanks!
You’re welcome and I really hope you’ll like it!
I love making drinks like this at home – sounds delicious!
And it’s also very quick to make! 🙂
Chai lattes are my favorite! Love this easy to make version!
Great!
Yummmmm! I’m off to the home of masala chai – can’t wait 😀
Hehe! Enjoy it 🙂
I am a tea lover myself and I liked your recipe. I normally add only one teabag for one cup. Four teabags seems to be on the harder side for me. I am surprised to see coffee like foam on your tea. I have been having tea since my childhood and never had such a beautiful top milk foam over tea. Did you add cream for this. Tell me the secret please !!
I’m so happy to hear that!!
This looks deeeelicious! Chai lattes are so good! I love how easy this is to make!
